    Mr. Pål Helsing is Executive Vice President at Kongsberg Oil and Gas Technologies , where he is responsible for KONGSBERG's oil and gas activities. Prior to joining KONGSBERG, Helsing was Senior Vice President for Strategy and Technology within Corporate Management in Aker Solutions.
    Pål HelsingHelsing has broad international business experience from the oil and gas industry, working in the UK, Australia, Brazil and the North Sea.
    Mr. Helsing holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Glasgow University, Scotland  and is also a Business Economist from the Norwegian School of Management .

  • Torgeir Kydland

    Torgeir Kydland is Senior Vice President for Eurasia, Middle East & Asia in Statoil ASA.
    Mr. Kydland joined Hydro Oil and Gas Business in 1984 as a reservoir engineer. Prior to that he was 3 years in Statoil. During his first 10 years in Hydro he held various management positions in petroleum engineering. In 1996 he joined the Exploration & Production management team, as Vice President for the Oseberg Field Asset, became Senior Vice President for Troll Field Asset in 1999 and Head of all Hydro’s Oil and Gas Operations in 2001. During 2005-2006 he was General Manager for Hydro’s businesses in Iran and since August 2006 he has been Senior Vice President and Head of Hydro Oil and Energy’s International Business Development. From October 2007 Torgeir Kydland joined the new merged company StatoilHydro ASA as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for Eurasia, Middle East and Asia. Torgeir Kydland has a MSc in Mathematics from the University of Oslo.

  • Monica Th. Bjørkmann

    Monica Th. Bjørkmann is currently Sales and Marketing Director of Subsea 7 in Norway. She has been with the company since 1996 and have been through several mergers, last between Acergy and Subsea 7 in 2011 when she was Territory Integration Director responsible for the integration of the two companies in the North Sea and Canada. Monica has had several roles within the company, including Project and Operations Director, Project Manager, Contracts and Supply Chain Manager. She has been working in Norway, UK and Australia. Her background is in economics, marketing, entrepreneurial and strategy studies from Norway and Denmark.

  • Bjørn Erik Brustad

    Mr. Bjørn Erik Brustad is Senior Adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Section for the High North Project, Polar Affairs, Energy and Resources, working on energy and climate issues in bilateral and multilateral relations. Mr. Bjørn Erik Brustad joined the MFA in 1996 and has been covering European affairs, trade policy as well as security policy issues.  He has held diplomatic postings in Vienna, Paris and Berlin. Before entering a diplomatic career, Mr. Bjørn Erik Brustad worked several years in the EFTA Secretariat in Geneva. He received his education in political science at the University of Oslo and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.

    Åsmund Bøe is the Chief Technology Officer at Aker Solutions ASA. Until joining Aker Solutions in 2010, Mr. Bøe worked for Schlumberger since 1995. He has held various international management positions in Schlumberger like the Middle East, China, US, France and Norway. Åsmund Bøe has a first class honours degree in mechanical offshore engineering from Heriot-Watt University in the UK.

  • Grethe Fossli

    Grethe Fossli has been  the head of the Business and Industry Policy Departement in the The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) siden 2006.
    As a member of Stortinget (the Norwegian parliament) 1993 - 2005 she was member of The Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs, The Standing Committee on Defence and The Standing Committee on Business and Industry.
    Ms. Fossli has been a long-time advisor to the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) She is a member of the board of Store Norske Spitsbergen kullkompani (SNSK) and also has several other public positions.

    Yrjar Garshol is currently General Manager Commercial  at Rolls Royce, Ulsteinvik with Responsibility for  Sales & Marketing & Contract Management.  Prior to Rolls Royce Marine, Yrjar functioned as Managing Director at Hejllegjerde, as Trade Commissioner & Consul for the Norwegian Trade Council, as Managing Director for Ulstein Forsyningstjeneste, for the Furniture Association of Norway and as a Bank Manager at  Sunnmorsbanken.
    Garshol holds a B.A., Business Administration,  from BI, Oslo and a Masters in  International Marketing, IMD, Lausanne as well as a Masters in Master in Project Management from BI, Oslo/Winnipeg.

  • Odd Sverre Haraldsen

    Mr. Haraldsen is Director General in the Petroleum Department of the Ministry. He has been in charge of the Industry and Research affairs section since September 2001. Amongst his responsibilities are supply industry issues, internationalization and research, and development in the petroleum sector.
    Mr. Haraldsen began his career in the Ministry in 1977 and has had a number of senior positions since. He was Energy Counsellor at the Norwegian Mission to EU in Brussels in 1995-1999.
    He is an economist from the University of Oslo.

  • Birgit Løyland

    Mrs Løyland is Deputy Director General in the Trade Policy Department of the Ministry for Trade and Industry. She has been head of the Section for Internationalization since 2008. The Section is responsible for export promotion and internationalization of Norwegian industry, particularly cooperation with fast growing economies in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, as well as Norwegian participation in World Expos. Mrs Løyland has previously worked for the Norwegian Competition Authority, the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, Statkraft and the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate. She is a lawyer from the University of Oslo and MSc in Regulation from London School of Economics and Political Science.

  • Harald Solberg

    Harald Solberg (born 1976)  took up his current position as Director of Industrial policy and Communication of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association in October 2011.  Prior to this, he was CEO of the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen from Oct. 2009 – Oct. 2011,  Deputy Chief Executive of the Norwegian media company Mentor Medier from 2005-2009, State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, 2003-2005, political advisor at the Prime Ministers’ office, 2001-2003 and political advisor at the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget) 1999-2001. His educational background comprises a Cand.mag (Political science, including economics and public law) from the University of Oslo.
