    CryoTank , is the Trade Mark ,a new storage-tank consept owned by ConCryo AS. ConCryo AS is owned 100% by Statoil ASA. The objectives is to develop a new generation storage tanks for cryogenic liquids, such as LNG.
    The CryoTank concept is a full containment design with an outer and an inner containment system, but which differ from the conventional tanks in that the inner containment tank is made of concrete in combination with stainless thin-plates as liquid membrane. The tank concept can be designed for storage volumes exceeding 300.000 m3, which is significantly larger (>50%) than the maximum volume to be stored in tanks available in the market today.  The CryoTank concept also yield lower cost, reduces the construction time, and improves overall safety in construction and operations.
    The concept is developed on the basis of recent experience with the construction of the 4 large containment tanks at Snøhvit, and a patented design by Statoil.

    Scana Skarpenord AS a subsidiary of Scana AS is located at Rjukan, approx. 200 km from Oslo. In addition to our factory in Norway, we have subsidiary organizations in Korea, Shanghai and Singapore, performing sales, system engineering and assembly, commissioning and after-sale service. In addition the company have agent offices all over the world. Since 1968 more than 1500 valve remote control systems have been supplied to the shipbuilding and offshore industry world-wide.

    Products
    The company develops, manufactures and supplies hydraulic actuators and complete systems for the remote control of valves in cargo, ballast and other systems for ships, offshore vessels and fixed offshore installations.
    Our engineering department has over the years accumulated considerable amount of experience and technical know-how and will in cooperation with the client select the best alternative.

    Market and customers
    The company`s key customers are shipyards that build larger types of ships such as tankers, bulk carriers and large offshore vessels such as FPSOs (production ships), rigs etc. Although the contracts are entered into with the shipyards, the shipping companies are also defined as key customers since the support of shipowners is often crucial. Other important customer groups are package suppliers and valve suppliers.

    Service Department
    Scana Skarpenord is continuously keeping a "service stock" in order to deliver spare parts quickly. A staff of well qualified service engineers, also with safety course required for offshore, will at short notice perform necessary maintenance and service, onshore/ offshore - worldwide.
    During installation and start-up, our service engineers can also be required for assistance and supervision.

    Quality Assurance
    The company will through an extensive Quality Assurance System assure its products, services and production. The Quality Assurance System will always be implemented for all functions within the company. The QA-system is approved by DNV to comply with ISO 9001.

    Type approval
    The actuators (the scotch yoke and the linear type) are type-approved by DNV.

    Classification Society Approvals
    The Remote Valve Control Systems have been approved by among others:
    DNV, Bureau Veritas, Lloyds Register of Shipping, Chinese Classification Society, American Bureau of Shipping and Germanischer Lloyd.
