EIFair AS is owned by the Norwegian research institutes NIVA / NINA / NILU.
Many years cooperation with the Norwegian oil and gas industry indicated the need for a tool able to simulate the prospective effects from airborne pollution on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems based on the Environmental Impact Factors.
 
Together with Statoil and Innovation Norway a 16 months intensive development program was launched.
 
Based on experience and input from prospective users, authorities and the research institutes the development program resulted in the web based tool EIF-AIR able to calculate and simulate the combined environmental effects of airborne pollution on air / surface water / vegetation and soil within a given geographic area.
 
The EIF-AIR tool is operated by the developer from his own office and all results/data is owned by the developer giving him the opportunity at an early stage in the project to select the most cost-benefit favourable development alternative.
